Erin Nelson, Registered Dietitian in Edmonton

Erin Nelson, RD

She/Her location_onEdmonton, AB person In-person & virtual sessions

  • Erin graduated from the University of Alberta in 2019 and started her career in Chronic Disease Management, providing one-on-one counselling and group education to people living with Diabetes. She has been in private practice for 4 years to allow her the flexibility to practice in a weight inclusive, non-diet environment. In 2022 Erin completed the training required and is now a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor.

Weight is not a good indicator of health and Erin has whole-heartedly adopted this as one of her core values. Erin finds the best way to support her clients on their journey, is to meet them where they are at and walk alongside them. Both the client and practitioner have valuable information to bring to the table and changes can only be made in collaboration.

When not supporting clients at TNC, Erin can usually be found curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee or camping with her wonderful partner and 2 amazing kids.

Larissa Ens, Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator in Edmonton

Larissa Ens, RD, CDE

Currently on parental leave

She/Her location_onEdmonton, AB person In-person & virtual sessions

  • Larissa has focused her work in the past 6 years on supporting those living with diabetes and is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). She found this area of practice to be focused on weight and restriction and noted the negative impact this had for those she supported. This led her to learn more about concepts such as Health at Every Size and intuitive eating and she now practices through a weight-inclusive lens.

Larissa helps those living with diabetes pursue a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, while managing the complexities that come alongside living with a chronic disease. Larissa has a special interest in type 1 diabetes and insulin pump therapy. She is incredibly grateful for the trust put in her by her clients, and the relationships she has the opportunity to form. Compassion is at the core of Larissa’s practice.

When not working you can find Larissa exploring the trails of Millcreek Ravine with her partner, daughter, and dog or experimenting with new recipes in her kitchen.
